Open Enrollment for the Affordable Care Ace is almost here!

March 21st, 2014 by Marie DeWolf

Here we are, close to the closing of the "Open Enrollment" period for the ACA (Affordable Care Act) and we receive more information from the Administration ...

I will preface this information with:

This too can change at any time

As you may know, the Open Enrollment period is ending on March 31 deadline for change for a May 1, 2014 effective date. You realize that after this date, you

must have a qualifying event to enroll in an insurance plan

So what is a qualifying event?

A significant life chance, such as:

  • Lose your job
  • Change job and lose your insurance
  • You get married
  • You have a baby

So NOW is a really good time to make the jump or dive in and buy health insurance. If you do that, you will be in line with the law and the mandate, which states,

"Everyone must have insurance or pay a penalty."

Call us or your broker and get insured!

What does the two-year extension on individual health insurance mean?

March 14th, 2014 by Marie DeWolf

NEWSFLASH

March 6, 2014
After days of speculation, the Obama Administration on Wednesday announced a two-year extension for individual health insurance policies that do not meet the standards of the Affordable Care Act.

SO ...

What that means to all of you who did "early renew" your plans with Anthem - is that we will NOT have to make a change in 2014 to be compliant with the  10 Essential Benefits.

IF ...

you want to see what an ACA compliant plan looks like and know the cost, please let me know and we will provide you with that information.

Stand by ...

to see if Insurance Carriers agree to this new twist.

The Exchange – can I still apply for health insurance?

January 9th, 2014 by Marie DeWolf

January 1, 2014 is already past!
Here it is,  January 8, 2014 ... already.

Are you wondering, "Can I still apply for Health Insurance, get subsidies and avoid the Penalty for not having coverage?"

The answer is "YES!"

Yes, you can – you can still go on Connect for Health Colorado website and do the following:

  • Create your account
  • Go to "Get assistance" tab
    • Search "80538 – Marie DeWolf"
    • Attach me to your account
  • Begin the PEAK application
  • Finish the PEAK application and press "SUBMIT"
  • Now you are in the WAITING MODE – waiting for your denial into the Medicaid program
  • You will receive your denial number 1B ... or a 5B ...
  • Once you receive that number, you can:
    • CALL ME with your username and password (do not send via email for your own security)
      OR
    • EDIT your Eligibility with this number.
  • You can NOW shop for plans and know exactly what it will cost you.

This needs to be done and finished by January 15, 2014 to insure that you are covered by February 1, 2014.

If this is NOT done then – keep the faith! You can submit by February 15, 2014 to be covered with insurance by March 1, 2014.
Good Luck!

Call me if you have any questions.
